Artisan Handcrafted Soft Pretzels
Our Business & Services
Our soft pretzels are handcrafted daily, using top quality ingredients. We offer fresh, healthy, and delicious authentic Bavarian-style soft pretzels for any occasion! We specialize in residential and business deliveries and events, weddings and private parties, fundraisers, and more! We also have a food truck as of May 2020!
The best way to order pretzels for preparation at a later time, is to order them bald (unsalted). I will provide you with pretzel salt on the side with instructions on how to salt and finish the pretzels in the oven.
Jason Beecher established Beecher’s Handcrafted, LLC in the fall of 2018. The business operates under both the “Beecher’s Handcrafted” name, as well as “Beecher’s Pretzels”. Jason has a culinary arts degree from Johnson & Wales University (1993), a business degree from Boston University (1996), and a Masters in Food Science with a minor in Food Safety, from North Carolina State University (2006). Jason has spent the last 30 years working in the food business (see profile on LinkedIn).
Jason is originally from Massachusetts, but spent his life moving a lot. Before moving to West Michigan in 2015, Jason, his wife Chris, and daughters Corrina and Stella, were living in South Jersey, not far from Philadelphia, PA. This is where they developed a passion for soft pretzels, although Chris has fond memories of hot soft pretzels on the streets of New York when she was growing up.
Upon moving to Michigan, it became difficult to find a really good authentic soft pretzel. With a little pressure from his wife, Jason began to research the history, formulations, and processes for making soft pretzels. Jason worked on his formula and process, making thousands of pretzels, for over a year, to get the pretzels to look and taste the way they do today. We do little to no advertising. Word of mouth and social media is what keeps us growing at a steady pace.
Jason is passionate about food quality and safety, and exemplary customer service. This is the foundation from which the Beecher’s Handcrafted operates. We aim to please and offer many services, most of which can be customized to meet your needs and budget.
We look forward to working with you, seeing you around, and doing our best to exceed your expectations!
Pretzel Care Instructions
We hope you love our handcrafted soft pretzels.
Pretzels, if unsalted, can be stored at room temperature, in an air tight bag for about 4 days, and frozen for up to 2 months. Just ask for salt on the side! Salted pretzels degrade much more quickly, as the pretzel salt absorbs moisture from the air and from the pretzel over time. The salt will dissolve and the pretzel will look spotty. They still taste great, but are best eaten fresh. If you would like to keep your pretzels for another time, let us know when you place your order.
Thawing, Salting, Reheating
Thaw unsalted pretzels, until soft, at room temperature for about 30 minutes. A microwave can be used to speed up the thawing process (30 seconds per pretzel). Preheat the oven to 450°F. Sprinkle some pretzel salt (enclosed) onto a flat surface, such as a cutting board. Mist pretzels with a fine spray of water. Gently press the face of the pretzel onto your salted surface. Brush off excess salt, if needed. Then, bake your pretzel on a non-stick baking tray at 450°F for 5 minutes. If you prefer the pretzel more crispy, bake for an additional minute or two.
Pretzel Freezing Instructions
Place soft pretzels on a pan, uncovered, in the freezer, for about an hour. Once the pretzels are frozen, store in a freezer bag or airtight container until you are ready to heat and enjoy. These will last well for about 3 months. Keep frozen until ready to use.
Reheating Frozen Pretzels
Microwave pretzel for 20 to 30 seconds, depending on size, to thaw quickly, then bake on a tray or directly on the rack in the oven at 425 °F for 5 mins.
Beer cheese does not ship, but is available for local orders. It can be kept refrigerated or frozen but is not shelf stable.
Beer cheese can be microwaved. Remove the lid from the cup, cover with a paper towel, and microwave on high for one minute. Stir carefully with a spoon, and repeat this process until the dip reaches 160 F. Serve immediately. Beer cheese can also be stored frozen.
